Chennai boy tops law school entrance test
K. Prahalad of Don Bosco could not believe the announcement that said he had secured the first rank in the National Law School of India University's entrance examination.
He was then in Kolkota and called home to verify. "I thought people were just trying to fool me... ," says the youngster who is yet to decide on which branch of law he should specialise in later in career. He got 170.75 in the NLS entrance examination.Of the five parts in the question paper, Prahalad says, he knew that he could not get all general knowledge questions and hence concentrated on the rest.Another topper is Sudesh Prabhakaran from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB), KK Nagar, with a score of 115 in the reserved SC category. Sudhesh plans to take up corporate law. The two had trained under Sriram Law Academy in Chennai.Their colleague V. Vaibhav Rangarajan has secured a seat at the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU). For him it was realisation of a dream. "My Plus Two exams were not good and I was a bit dejected. Then my Dad encouraged me to take up law, " he reasons for the change in his academics from Commerce. Vaibhav has set his eyes on environment and cyber laws.Hema Raman, Head-Academic of Sriram Law Academy says: "We worked in tandem with the students."
